Profile Section in Vehicle Details

  1. CCM Environment: This is a flagger category that groups the base profile and camera profile together. The dropdown has 3 environments: Production, Test, and Development. Typically, we only use production environment except in rare case which we will go over in another training packet.
  2. CCM Camera profile: This allows for an installer to select the correct profile for the camera installed on the vehicle. The dropdown shows different profiles available. The next section of this guide explains how these profile names are coined and what they do.
  3. Compatible: This is the ability for the vehicle to accept the profile in which it was assigned. It’s a very important piece in the selection of camera profile.  If its incompatible it means the profile will not work with the vehicle. Typically, this happens when the profile has not been updated to a new firmware. For more information on compatibility please click here.

Defining and Understanding Camera Profile

When we look at the camera profile in the dropdown menu, we notice some things are consistent and repetitive. This is due to the naming structure behind how these profiles are formed. This makes it easy for anyone to read through and understand what profile is needed easily. When we look at the structure behind the naming, we can tell 7 distinctive patterns.

  • #cam
  • #cam_No_Audio
  • #cam_No_Cam_1
  • #cam_No_Cam_1_No_WU_Audio
  • #cam_No_Cam_2
  • #cam_No_WU_Audio
  • #cam_No_WU_Video_No_Audio_All

#cam (Example: 2cam)

The number (#) before the word “cam” represents the number of cameras installed on the vehicle.

  • For example: 2cam
    • From our camera labeling training packet, we understand that the first 2 cameras are the driver facing camera and the front facing camera respectively.
    • This tells us that the cameras installed is just the Window Unit (WU) cameras.
    • Without anything also attached to it, Audio and video on the cameras will work.
    • Below is a visual representation of what this looks like from our confluence page.

#cam_No_Audio (Example: 3cam_No_Audio)

The number (#) before the word “cam” represents the number of cameras installed and no audio is needed on all the cameras.

  • For example: 3cam_No_Audio
    • The first part of this naming tells is Cameras 1,2, and 3 are installed on this vehicle.
    • The Second part of this tells us audio is not needed on any of the 3 cameras.
    • Video is enabled on the cameras.
    • Below is a visual representation of what this looks like from our confluence page.

#cam_No_Cam_1 (Example: 4cam_No_Cam_1)

The number (#) before the word “cam” represents the number of cameras installed and no video needed on camera 1.

  • For example: 4cam_No_Cam_1
    • This tells is Cameras 1,2,3, and 4 are installed on this vehicle.
    • The other part of this profile tells us video is not needed on camera 1.
    • Audio on every camera is available and Video’s on the rest of the cameras will also be available.
    • Below is a visual representation of what this looks like from our confluence page.

#cam_No_Cam_1_No_WU_Audio (Example: 5cam_No_Cam_1_No_WU_Audio)

The number (#) before the word “cam” represents the number of cameras installed, no video needed on camera 1, and no audio on the Window Unit cameras

  • For example: 5cam_No_Cam_1_No_WU_Audio
    • This tells us Cameras 1,2,3,4, and 5 are installed on this vehicle.
    • This profile tells us video is not needed on camera 1.
    • This profile does not need audio on the Window Unit Cameras which are cameras 1 and 2.
    • Audio will be available on cameras 3,4, and 5 and video will be available on camera 2,3,4, and 5.
    • Below is a visual representation of what this looks like from our confluence page.

#cam_No_Cam_2 (Example: 6cam_No_Cam_2)

The number (#) before the word “cam” represents the number of cameras installed and no video is needed on camera 2.

  • For example: 6cam_No_Cam_2
    • This tells us Camera 1,2,3,4,5, and 6 are installed on this vehicle.
    • This profile tells us video is not needed on camera 2.
    • Audio will be available on all cameras and video will be available on cameras 1,3,4,5, and 6.
    • Below is a visual representation of what this looks like from our confluence page.

#cam_No_WU_Audio (Example: 7cam_No_WU_Audio)

The number (#) before the word “cam” represents the number of cameras installed and no audio is needed on the Window Unit cameras.

  • For example: 7cam_No_WU_Audio
    • This tells is cameras 1,2,3,4,5,6, and 7 are installed on this vehicle
    • This profile tells us no audio is needed on the window units which are cameras 1 and 2.
    • Audio will be available on cameras 3,4,5,6, and 7 and video will be available on all cameras.
