Guide Purpose:

  • This guide is designed to:
    • Show steps to find vehicle details.
      • Highlight the 3 different ways to get to vehicle details
    • Show how to edit/change details of vehicles
    • Explains other valuable information on the vehicle details page

How to Log into 3rd Eye Portal as an Administrator:

  1. Go to our 3rd Eye Administrator Portal 3rd Eye (3rdeyecam.com)
  2. Login with your credentials

How to View Vehicle Details from Fleet

  1. Go to Fleet Tab
  2. Select company name by searching or by scrolling through the Dropdown list.
  3. Select the requested truck using vehicle/KIT number provided
  4. Click on Details button

Navigating Vehicle Details Page

  1. Select the field you want to edit, in this case we will choose body type
    1. For more information on each section and their fields, click here
  2. Select the value from the dropdown that you want to change on the record
  3. Click save to update the record.

Alternate Ways to View Vehicle Details

How to View Vehicle Details from Administration (Config)

  1. Go to Administration Tab
  2. Select Configuration menu
  3. Go to vehicles menu
  4. Select the Tenant under division Filter
  5. Select the area from the subdivision Filter
  6. Search and select the vehicle with the vehicle number provided
  7. Click open button once vehicle is selected

How to View Vehicle Details from Administration (Ops)

  1. Go to Administration Tab
  2. Select Operations Menu
  3. Go to Live status Menu
  4. Input the Vehicle Number in the vehicle name filter
  5. Input Company/Division name in filter
  6. Select the vehicle
  7. Click on Details button

Vehicle Details Section Definitions

  1. Vehicle: This section contains information about the manufacturer of the cab and underpart of a motor vehicle on which the body is mounted.

  2. Body: This section contains information on the manufactured structure and function of what is attached on the vehicle.

  3. Unit: This section contains information on the 3rd Eye equipment’s installed in the vehicle/body.

  4. Engine: This section provides information on the engine of the vehicle.

  5. Health: This section shows the strength of connectivity for the 3rd Eye equipment’s installed.

  6. Profile: This section is very important for the installation and productivity of the 3rd Eye equipment’s installed. It determines what is installed and how it should be used.

Vehicle Fields Definitions

  • Vehicle Name: This is the name attached to any vehicle in our system.
  • Chassis Make: This is the company that made the cab of the vehicle where the engine sits.
  • Chassis Model: This is used to identify the specification on the vehicle.
  • Chassis VIN: This is the Vehicle Identification Number of the Chassis.
  • Chassis Year: This identifies what year the chassis was manufactured.
  • Spare checkbox: This tells is if the vehicle is a spare when checked and vise versa.

Unit Fields Definitions

  • Unit: Unit S/N is the serial number of the gateway which should automatically populate when installed. If not, it can be copied off the gateway and manually entered.
  • Window: Window unit S/N is the serial number from the window unit which should automatically populate when installed. If not, it can be copied off the gateway and manually entered.
  • Mac Address: This is the identified Mac address of the unit which should automatically populate.
  • Status: This is when the vehicle is active or inactive. A new unit should always be active. The only changes to this will be when a customer calls in to terminate their contract, this should be changed to decommissioned.
  • Inservice: It is a check box to show that the vehicle is in service.

Body Fields Definitions

  • Body Type: A vehicle could have different type of body mount on the chassis. This field provides us with different body types.
  • Line Of Business: This tells us the type of business the body of the vehicle is used for.
  • Body Make: Shows information on the company that manufactured the body.
  • Body Model: This is used to identify the specification on the body.
  • Body Year: Shows the year the body was Manufactured.
  • Body Serial Number: It’s the number attached to the body for identification.

Engine Fields Definitions

  • Engine Make: Shows information on the company that manufactured the engine.
  • Engine Model: This is used to identify the specification on the engine.
  • Engine S/N: It’s the number attached to the engine for identification.
  • Unit Number: This is the same as the S/N depending on the manufacture they can either use S/N or U/N.
  • Fuel Type: Provides information on the type of fuel the engine uses.
  • CAN Bus: Provides information on the communication network system used in a vehicle.

Health Fields Definitions

Connectivity: This shows that the 3rd Eye equipment installed is connected to a cellular provider and tells us of its signal strength.

GPS: This shows the Global Positioning System is currently available and connected for use.

SD Cards: This is the storage system that is provided for activities from our 3rd Eye cameras.

J1939: This is the chassis connectivity of our system to the vehicle.

Cameras: These are the 3rd Eye cameras installed and active on the vehicle.

Profile Fields Definitions

  • CCM Environment: Describes the state in which the vehicle is being operated.
  • CCM Base Profile: Depending on the vehicle and body type, 3rd Eye Software works with a profile fit for the business need. This filed provides option for the right profile to be used from its dropdown.
  • CCM Camera Profile: This fields identifies the amount of camera attached to a unit and how they work.
  • Installed Cameras: Shows the cameras on a vehicle and where they are located on the vehicle. Please note Cameras 1 and 2 will only show driver or none and front or none respectively (These 2 cameras are considered the window unit cameras). When setting up a vehicle its important the camera labels are correctly done and filled in. If blank, please identify the camera with customer and have it filled in correctly. Understand how many cameras a customer is using and making sure its defined.

Other Fields Definitions 

  1. Received cameras: This is a check box that shows the cameras installed ticked in the check box.
  2. Installation source: Tells us who is doing the 3rd Eye installation. It’s important that this information is accurate as it identifies who completed an install on the vehicle. The Dropdown options explained below:
    1. Factory means it’s the company that manufactures the body doing the install.
    2. 3rd Eye means one of our technicians did the install.
    3. Dealer means the heil dealer network that is approved to do an install for 3rd Eye did the install.
  3. Dealer list: This shows a list of dealers that are approved to do an install for 3rd Eye equipment’s. It’s important that this information is accurate as it identifies who completed an install on the vehicle
  4. Ping Notification Email: This is a deprecated field. It allows the vehicle to send notification to the listed email address based on set criteria that triggers an email to be sent.
  5. Billing Original Division: This will show the original division a vehicle was in before it’s moved to another division. It helps users understand which division a vehicle was originally assigned to before moving it to a new division.
  6. Pilot Status: This is a deprecated field used to identify if a vehicle was in a pilot phase status when the box is checked.
  7. In Service Since: It’s a date field for the date the vehicle went into service. Service means when install on vehicle was finished and the vehicle is capable of being used by the customer.
  8. Last Maintenance Date: It’s a date field that shows the last time the vehicle had maintenance done on it.
  9. Decommissioned On: It’s a date field that shows when the vehicle was deactivated or decommissioned.
  10. Driver Shift Time Zone: This is a deprecated field. Its was used to identify the time zone a driver was in.
  11. RMA Count: It’s the total number of times a vehicle has been to Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). RMA is when the vehicle is returned to the manufacturer for repair or replacement and the sent back to the customer.
  12. Hard Reboot Count: This shows the total amount of time the vehicle has been hard rebooted. Hard reboot is a specialized process that 3rd Eye Service technician can perform.
  13. Vehicle tampering count: This is a deprecated field. There is a process on our 3rd Eye gateway that tells us if tampering occurred or did not. This process doesn’t function well.
  14. Current tampering count: This is a deprecated field. There is a process on our 3rd Eye gateway that tells us if tampering occurred or did not. This process doesn’t function well.
  15. Driver: This allows to you to select the driver for the vehicle.
  16. Comment Section: This shows any comments added or any vehicle edits that occurred and who made the changes
  17. Active feedback: Shows any feedback applied to this vehicle from the feedback section on the portal.
  18. Cummins Diags: This is for Cummins diagnostic services alerts related to the vehicle
  19. Reset UDU Counts: This is related to resetting the counts on the left (RMA Count, Hard Reboot Count, Vehicle Tampering Count, and Current Tampering Count).
  20. Sim Management: This is where we manage the sim related to this vehicle and make sure they are connecting to the cellular network. A sim is an integrated circuit that securely stores international mobile subscriber identities.
