Guide Purpose:

  • This guide IS designed to:
    • Show how to use Paint.Net to resize logo
  • This guide IS NOT designed to:
    • Show how to obtain or create a logo

Resizing Customer Logo (Using Paint.Net)

Note: Your logo should have an aspect ratio of 2.45

How to Upload Logo into Paint.net

  1. Click on the file tab
  2. Select the Open button
  3. Click on the tab where the logo is stored
    1. In this case, the logo is stored in downloads
  4. Select the logo
    1. Please rename your logo to make it easy to catalog
  5. Click open
    1. You can also double click on the picture to open
  6. Logo opens in paint.net

Expanding Canvas Size

  1. Click on Image tab
  2. Select the Canvas Size button

Change Canvas Size

  1. Shows the original aspect ratio
    1. We need to expand the canvas size so we can resize the logo to fit perfectly in the portal
  2. Shows new aspect ratio
    1. Using 4000 pixels for both width and height to double the size of the canvas
  3. Click Ok to expand the canvas.

*Below is an image of what the logo looks like after adjustment to canvas size

Adjusting Logo’s Aspect Ratio

  1. Using the aspect ratio of 2.45, adjust the height by dividing the Width pixel by 2.45 to get the desired aspect ration
    1. For this case 4000/2.45= 1632.65
  2. Click OK to save changes

*Below is an image of what the logo looks like after adjusting the aspect ratio

Resizing Image to Fit Canvas

  1. Check the Maintain aspect ratio box
    1. This is done to maintain the 2.45 aspect ratio calculation that already exist while making any adjustment
  2. Adjust width pixels as needed.
    1. In this case we adjusted the width to 3000 pixels
    2. Based on the step one the height will adjust per the defined aspect ratio maintained.
  3. Click OK to save changes

*Below is an image of what the logo looks like after resizing the logo to desired size. We can see that the logo covers a good portion of the canvas. 

How to Save Changes to Logo

  1. Click the “File” tab
  2. Select “Save AS”
  3. Click on the tab where the new resized logo will be saved
    1. In this case, new resized logo is stored in pictures
  4. Rename the new resized logo
  5. Select PNG file type
    1. This is the file type required for logo to be used in our portal
  6. Click Save

How to Upload New Logo

  1. Click on the Administration tab
  2. Select the Configuration tab
  3. Select the Companies section
  4. Scroll down to logo file and select choose file
    1. Upload logo from the stored location
  5. Click “Upload” button to upload new resized logo
  6. Click Save
