Required Hardware

Lava Adapter (Power Supply)

For this install you will need one of the following three devices, it is important you know which one you have as the required adapter varies based on the tablet model you own!

3EC-T2GKIT-nSTS 3EC-T2GKIT-SYNC 3EC-T2GKIT-SYNCPLUS
Micro-USB specialized adapter USB-C specialized adapter USB-C with battery modulation, this device is only copatible with specialized tablets. Please make sure you follow all instructions to get the improved charging benefits of the 3EC-T2GKIT-SYNCPLUS.

USB Transfer (Host to Host) Cable

The USB Transfer (Host to Host) cable is a specialized cable and it is critical you use this cable as directed for the solution to deliver value.

USB Power Cable

Make sure you have a power cable that can plug into both your vehicle and your LAVA Adapter (Power Supply).

USB-A to USB-C USB-A to Micro USB
USB-C to USB-C USB-C to Micro USB 

USB Tablet to Adapter Cable

The USB Micro to USB Micro Cable will come with the 3EC-T2GKIT-nSTS box.

USB C to USB C USB Micro to USB Micro

Approved Tablet

Make sure your tablet is on our supported devices list. Any tablet not on the list may still have the proper plugs, but will not work with the 3rd Eye Tablet to Gateway Integration.

Installing the Equipment

Preparing your 3rd Eye Gateway

  1. Locate your 3rdEye Gateway device, this is typically under the or behind the passenger seat.
    1. Alternate mounting locations for your 3rdEye Gateway may be in the center console or under the dash.
  2. Once you’ve found your gateway look for the USB Port on the Device, this may have a cover protecting the port from debris.
    1. Remove the cover to make the port visible.
  3. Take one end of your USB Transfer Cable and insert it into the USB Port on the 3rd Eye Gateway.
  4. Take one end of your USB Transfer Cable and insert it into the USB Port on the 3rd Eye Gateway.

  1. At this point in the training document your device should look as shown below:

Connecting the Lava Adapter to your Vehicles USB Port

  1. Take your Lava Adapter and plug in your Power USB Cable.
3EC-T2GKIT-nSTS 3EC-T2GKIT-SYNC and 3EC-T2GKIT-SYNCPLUS
  1. Take the Power USB Cable and connect it to your vehicles available USB Port.
    1. The USB Port may be under a cover that makes it not readily visible.
    2. If you don’t have a USB Port on your vehicle, you can install a Cigarette Lighter USB Adapter.

  1. At this point in the training document your device should look as shown below:

Connecting the Lava Adapter to your 3rd Eye Approved Tablet

  1. Once you have identified your tablet and proper connection requirements plug in your USB Tablet to Adapter Cable into the Lava Adapter.
    1. The 3EC-T2GKIT-nSTS comes with a special Micro-USB cable, please make sure you use the provided cable.

  1. Find the USB Port on your approved Tablet Device and plug the USB Tablet to Adapter Cable into the tablet:

  1. Once all devices are connected your Lava Adapter should be put in a location not easily accessible as to limit chances of the device being disconnected.
    1. When your install is complete your device should have three cables coming out as shown below:
