Guide Purpose:

  • This guide IS designed to:
    • Show how to retrieve video events from an SD Card
    • How to stitch Uploaded video events
  • This guide IS NOT designed to:
    • Show how retrieve images captured

How to Pull a Video Request

  1. Click on the Video Request Tab
  2. Insert the Video Request# from the email received
  3. Change status to All
    1. Keep in mind you can use the status from the details of the Video Request email received.
  4. Update the “Date From” field to reflect the request date.
  5. Select the request that pulled up.

*Keep in mind there are other fields that could be used to pull up a Video Request if the step 2,3, and 4 is unknown.

Reviewing Video Request Details for Manual SD Card Pull

  1. Review and notate the date and time the Video request is for
    1. Date: 6/29/2023
      1. It is important to know the exact date we are looking for when pulling the videos from the SD Cards
    2. Start time: 2:30pm
      1. This tells what time we should start pulling the video from
    3. Duration: 7 mins
      1. This tells how long the video should be from the start time
    4. Time Zone:
      1. This is the Time Zone of city or area in which the vehicle was operating ****
  2. Notate the vehicle information for proper documentation when pulling video from SD Card

Accessing Mailed SD Card Through DiskInternals Linux Reader

  1. Click on the SD Card in removable storage.
  2. Click on the 3rd Eye folder
  3. Click on the storage folder
  4. Select the date of the Video that was requested
    1. Please keep in mind that if the date is not available on this SD Card, we can access the backup card for more information if available
  5. Select the hour of the video that was requested
    1. Time-Zone reflected in our storage is in UTC. Please use the Time converter at the bottom of this guide to convert the Time-Zone to UTC
      1. In this instance, the time was 2:30 pm EST. Using the Time-Zone converter to UTC, the time we would select is 18
  6. Select the file type of the video 
  7. Select the duration (7 mins) from the minutes (each minute) of the start time from the Video request for requested cameras and save
    1. Right click on your selection and select save
      1. For Example: The image below shows selection for camera 3 from minutes 30 to 37

*Note: Repeat this process for all cameras requested.

How to Save Events to a Designated Folder

*Please create a folder on your PC to save the events downloaded

Once events have being selected and are ready to be saved, follow the steps below

  1. Select the save files button (if not pre-selected)
  2. Click “Next”
  3. Select “Save directory structure" (if not pre-selected)
  4. Browse to select the path to the folder created to save these events.
    1. Path selected will show in the box highlighted in BLUE
  5. Click “Next”
  6. Verify the list populated are the events need to be saved
  7. Click “Next” to save the events to the selected folder

How to Upload Events to 3rd Eye Portal

Open the video request in our 3rd Eye Portal

  1. Verify the information on the Events saved are consistent with the date and time requested as highlighted in the BLUE box
    1. If the events saved are not consistent with the request, please adjust the details to reflect the events that would be sent to the customer
  2. Click Upload Videos
  3. Select the new button
  4. Input the date of the event requested
  5. Input the Media start time as requested
    1. As highlighted in the BLUE Box, please follow the format for time and time zone.
    2. The Event start time is automatically filled once the media start time is inputted and hit the tab button
    3. The event time inputted will be per minute (for example: 18:30:00 means 1 minute at the 30 minutes mark)
  6. Select the number of cameras based on the cameras requested and available
  7. Input a group name to assign the events captured to as highlighted in the GREEN box
    1. This is very useful when multiple events need to be stitched together
    2. Existing group becomes useful when uploading the other minutes of the events
  8. Click on Choose file to select an event to download
    1. The event chosen should match with the media start time documented for this video upload
    2. The sections available for uploading a file as seen in the ORANGE box highlighted, is determined by the camera count selected.
    3. We advise to upload videos from events into each section numerically
      1. For example. If cameras 4,5,6, and 7 were requested, our camera count will be 4. We should input the upload for camera 4 into the camera 1 video file as it is the first camera numerically requested. Camera 5 will be uploaded into the Camera 2 video file. We repeat this same pattern till all 4 available upload sections are completed.
  9. Select by double clicking on the video from the folder they were stored in on your PC.
    1. This section only appears when the chosen file button is clicked.
    2. Repeat this step till all uploads have been completed
  10. Click Submit when all uploads have been completed.

Note: Please repeat this process till events have been uploaded.

How to Stitch Events

Once all uploaded events have been submitted

  1. Verify that all uploads are successful by double checking the list of uploaded events as highlighted in the BLUE box
  2. Click on “Start Stitching Videos”
  3. Review the pop-up notification for Status of the Video Stitching and close.

How to Verify Stitching is Completed

Open the request from the Video request page

  1. View Events button will become available
    1. You can click on this button to review the events stitched
  2. Download All Event Medio button will become available
    1. This allows the customer to download this event from our portal

Accessing SD card from Portal

  1. Click on Video Request
  2. Insert the Video Request number
  3. Select the video request result
  4. Click on the IP Address to access the SD cards 

Reviewing and Downloading Events in SD Card through the 3rd Eye Portal

  1. Insert /3rdeye/storage to the URL to access SD card 1
    1. Insert /mmcblk1/storage to access SD card 2
  2. Select the date of the event you are looking for
  3. Select the hour of the event using UTC time standard
    1. See conversion sheet at the bottom of this guide
  4. Select mp4 to view recorded events
  5. Right click on the Camera view and the minute requested 
  6. Select save link as to save event into a folder
  7. Select the right folder path 
    1. Please follow the standard folder naming convention 
  8. Click save to download event into a folde
