As technology continues to improve, there is a need for us to adopt these new innovations to improve our product and increase our market. Our customers need for quality and additional functionality continues to increase. We at 3rd Eye need to develop devices to support these needs with future insights to how the industry evolves. Genesis is the name of the new version of our 3rd Eye gateway device. This new version of the gateway will be available to all customers by 2024 provided there are no supply chain issues. Explained below are some of the important updates that would come with the Genesis version. 

Camera

The Genessis series will be able to support a minimum of 6 cameras with the capability to support more. It supports a higher camera resolution up to 1080P30, AHD an also the current analog 480i cameras. It increases the connectivity to support more that 6 cameras by the addition of 2 ethernet connector, connection to another gateway through the use of an ethernet cable, and use of the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capability of the device.

CAN Bus Port

Our current version V4 can only support 1 CAN bus. CAN (Control Area Network) bus is a network system developed to help improve communication between microcontrollers and devices installed in a vehicle. This simplifies how data is transmitted from the devices without prioritizing one above the other and reduce the need for excessive wiring. Because we have a lot of data being transmitted from the devices through J1939, the CAN bus could easily get overloaded and data could be lost. The Genesis version has 5 CAN buses installed to reduce the potential of losing data and increase the chances of more devices being connected and more data following into our portal. This includes supporting OBDII which are found in non-commercial vehicles. 

SD Card

SD Cards could get corrupt when the power goes out. This is a potential issue with our customers when they request videos and we have missing frames due to this issue. In building the new gateway version, we put this into consideration how to eliminate this issue. Included in the new genesis version are additional circuitry withing the battery to help eliminate the potential of SD cards from being corrupt when the power is turned off.
