Fundamentals
While driving, there are basic fundamentals everyone needs to follow. Some of these fundamentals are common knowledge while some are provided by companies. paying attention and following these fundamentals will help keep drivers safe. Below is a list of infractions we review for fundamentals.

Backing up Unsafe.
- The driver reversed without verifying that it was safe to do so. Examples would include but are not limited to:

Driver Seatbelt.
- The driver is not wearing a seatbelt while the vehicle is going over the speed listed.
- The listed speed may vary depending on the customer.

Following too Closely

Maintaining a safe distance between vehicles will help avoid these risky situations that can lead to accidents. The driver will be marked accordingly based on the distance to which they are following too close. Criteria include:
- Following too Closely (<1 sec)
- Following too Closely (1 – 2 sec)
- Following too Closely (2 – 3 sec)
- Following too Closely (3 – 4 sec)

Improper Lane Change or Passing

Drivers changing lanes without observing nearby conditions and following road protocol. Examples of road protocol include:
- Rapid lane changes
- Crossing lanes against road markers
- Ignoring road signs
- Not using the mirrors

No PPE.
- The driver is not wearing proper PPE.
- PPE is described as a high visibility vest, coat, shirt or uniform.
- We only review what the driver is wearing, NOT the helper or passenger.
- The driver is not wearing proper PPE.

Not Scanning Roadway.
- Driver is not observing ongoing the road conditions and adjusting behavior accordingly. Examples of road conditions include:
- Traffic
- Pedestrians
- Construction
- Intersection

Passenger Seatbelt.
- Passenger is not wearing a seatbelt while the vehicle is in motion when going over a speed (mph) as determined by the tenant exceeding one of the following thresholds:
- 15
- 20
- 25
- 30
- Passenger is not wearing a seatbelt while the vehicle is in motion when going over a speed (mph) as determined by the tenant exceeding one of the following thresholds:

Too Fast for Conditions.
- The driver is going too fast for the given situation or environment. Examples would include:
- Driving too fast in parking lots.
- Icy roads or other bad weather conditions.
- It would also include driving too fast in a construction zone.

U-Turn.
- The driver performs a U-turn anywhere that isn’t a designated U-turn lane.

Unauthorized Passenger.
- The driver is operating the vehicle with an unauthorized passenger. This would be assumed if the passenger is not wearing a matching uniform.

Unsafe Railroad Crossing.
- The driver does not come to a full stop before crossing the railroad tracks.

Wrong Driving Position.
- The driver is on the right-side drive of a vehicle while driving on a highway.
