Details: The GPS/4G Cellular antenna are made up of three antennas housed inside 1 unit (Figure 1.1) and connected to the Gateway in order to provide vital connectivity.
Issue: GPS or 4G Cellular is reported as down or degraded.
Diagnose:
Step 1:
Inspect the antenna and ensure it’s on mounted on the dash, face up, and unobstructed. Check Microsite Guide to see if this fix resolved the concern. If the issue is not resolved, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2:
Remove the two T-20 security Torx screws from the antenna plate in order to take the SMA bracket off. (Figure 2.1). With the SMA Bracket removed re-attach the antenna plate and re-insert and tighten the security Torx screws (Figure 2.2) then proceed to Step 3.
Step 3:
Remove the appropriate antenna connector (GPS is the middle), re-insert, and tighten the connector using a 5/16 wrench. Ensure connection is snug but DO NOT overtighten. Perform a hard reboot (Refer to the Gateway Hard Reboot Procedure document) and check the microsite (Figure 3.1) to determine if this resolved the issue. If the issue still remains, then proceed to Step 4.
Step 4:
If GPS or 4G is still down, inspect antenna cable for damage and replace if needed with Part # MA240.LBI.012-ST. If the problem still exists after the new antenna has been installed, please contact 3rd Eye for additional support.
