Vehicle API is how our customers can share their vehicle details and driver information with our system. This allows for the customer to be able to make changes to reflect the current fleet inventory and employee record. Making sure the information is accurate is incredibly important for getting value out of the product. A customer purchases our 3rd Eye Magnif-Eye product to help reduce the liability issues they have being getting lately. It is very important that we associate the right driver to the right vehicle on a daily basis, so we do not create false report. If the driver for a vehicle changes and this does not change in our system, all infractions scored will be documented for the initial driver of the vehicle.

For example: Dan an employee at Dave’s Waste Collection just finished his morning shift. He hands over the key to the vehicle to John who is just starting the evening shift. Their manager forgot to make the change of drivers in the system due to other situations he was attending to at the time. While John was driving, he had a text message pop on his cellphone and decided to read the message. While taking his eyes off the road for some seconds, the car in front of him had to stop for a pedestrian. John was not paying attention so he rearended the vehicle in front of him. Dan resumes the next pay and checks his dashboard to find an accident in his report. He starts to panic because he doesn't recall hitting anything and thinks his job is at risk per company policy. 

Some benefits of the vehicle API are:

• Pull road usage data.

Getting and Updating Vehicle Information

The Vehicle API allows you to control the vehicle information section in this image highlighted in the blue. Having the right vehicle information is important in so many ways. We use the chassis Vin in our collection API to identify a vehicle. The service bureau uses the body type information to select what gets reviewed for our Verif-Eye product. For vehicle activation and installation, this information is critical to how 3rd Eye devices are installed on this vehicle and how they are activated.

Getting Vehicle List and Updating Information.

1. Click on the Vehicles button to bring up all vehicles within the tenant.
2. Click on the Open button to edit information about the vehicle. 
3. Click on the New button to add new vehicles to the tenant. 
4. Click on the Reassign button to reassign a vehicle to a different subdivision within the tenant.
   

Getting and Updating Driver Information

1. Click on the Staff button to pull out the list of all drivers. 
2. Click on the New button to add new drivers to the list.
3. Click on the Open button to edit information about the driver selected. 
4. Click on the Reassign button to move drivers around.
