Driver does not stop at a traffic light when the light is red. Running a redlight also applies to a vehicle not completely passing through the intersection as the light becomes red.
Example 1
- The driver is approaching the intersection where the light has already turned yellow as demonstrated inside the red circle.
- The truck traveling at a speed of 29mph as seen in the green box on the left.
- Inside the red circle you can see that the light has changed to red.
- If the driver is passing through an intersection and the light cycles to red, then they have run a red light.
- If the driver is turning left or right and they have a protected, green arrow then they have NOT run a red light.
- The truck is turning left through the intersection as seen inside the green circle.
- Therefore, this video event has been scored as Red Light in the blue box on the right.
Example 2
- The driver is approaching the intersection and you can see inside the red circle that the light is yellow.
- The driver is now passing through the intersection and inside the red circle you can see the light has changed to red.
- The speed of the truck as it enters the intersection is 46mph as seen in the green box on the left.
- The video event is then scored as Red Light as seen in the blue box on the right.
